At TRAUM

Inspired by the materiality of a space and spiritual connections with the inhabitants of it, we brought to TRAUM in Ciudada de Mexico a selection of textile artworks to communicate our desire for a landscape and a timeline thriving with emotions and feelings of unity.

Cultures collide in harmony in various pieces of different architecture: garments made to preserve us from climate, created for WAK'A rooms in Spain, they combine hand-woven alpaca pieces with stained hemp, reversible, gender-neutral and atemportal. The kakejiku-inspired wall hangings and paintings are an attempt to frame moments captures by painting with tea, rust and added stitches, they are later framed within antique Japanese textiles.

Mexico City is one of the most interesting cities I have visited, several times now.
The social eclectic composition, its unique architecture, the layers of ancient cultures and contemporary modalities are strongly present.
I am (intrinsically) asked to return to continue exploring and formulating within rooms in the city.

Puras Intenciones is a large concept, easily applied to most of my work: noble materials, processes to manipulate them that are informed by ancient techniques, modern shapes for contemporary appreciation, and intuition.

This new iteration of PI for a collaboration with Loona Universe, a fashion platform that presents the relevant in sustainable  and future-conscious art and design, is an experiment in architecture as garments and memory imprints as wall hangings.

A space is being sought-out for us to install a series of kakejiku-inspired textile landscapes and a selection of wearable architecture, this space should be open to transformations throughout the exhibition timeline.

Materials, colors and shapes are within a continous personal search for components that accompany and heal, protect and adorn our being here.
